This course will introduce the student to the etiology, pathology and clinical presentation of common conditions treated in Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. Illness, injury and disability involving the musculoskeletal system, cardiorespiratory system and the central and peripheral nervous system will be explored. Diseases and disorders across the lifespan including developmental disorders and degenerative diseases will be discussed. The functional impact of the condition, OT and PT treatment approaches and the roles of the OTA & PTA will be emphasized.
